Choices

Choices Program

ORI’s Choices Program provides recreational, educational, and social activities for individuals with developmental disabilities and is designed to promote inclusion and freedom of choice. In this program, individuals choose from many different community based and in-house activities and classes that promote personal growth. Some of the in-house options include exercise class, arts and crafts, computer activities, cooking class, dog therapy, and African drum circle. Some of our community partnerships include movie day at the Roxy Theater, swimming at currents, visits to the butterfly house, VRTX fitness class, the Missoula YMCA, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation just to name a few. We truly believe that community integration enhances the quality of life for our clients, and a partnership with Missoula community members is critical to this process of integration.

In the summer months longer day trips are planned to such places as Flathead Lake, the Daly Mansion, the Sweet Palace in Phillipsburg, and Garnet Ghost Town.

The training supervisors and coordinators in this program provide support and encouragement in times of stress and during times when individuals might need assistance in problem solving. The Choices Program staff strive to create service options that are productive, fun, and safe for all individuals served.

Small Group Program

ORI’s Small Group Support Services is a community-based leisure program in which typically 2 to 3 individuals with one support worker take part in community events or activities. All of the programming options listed above for the Choices Program are also available to individuals in the Small Group Program. Schedules are varied and individualized to meet our client’s needs.

1:1 Services

ORI’s 1:1 program provides one staff to one client ratio for individuals that require a more intensive level of support to access the community in a safe manner. All of the programming options listed above for the Choices Program are also available to individuals in the Small Group Program.

Opportunity’s Day Supports and Activities Program
