SPECTRUM ANNOUNCES $50,000 DONATION TO OPPORTUNITY RESOURCES, INC. THROUGH SPECTRUM COMMUNITY CENTER ASSIST

Missoula, MT – August 10, 2022 – Spectrum today announced Opportunity Resources, Inc. has received $50,000 through Spectrum Community Center Assist, the company’s five-year, $30 million philanthropic initiative to revitalize local community centers and invest in job training programs in rural and urban underserved communities.

Spectrum will kick off the partnership on Saturday, August 13 at 8:30 a.m. with a revitalization event at their facility located at 2821 S. Russell Street in Missoula, where employees and community volunteers will provide repairs and other physical improvements to the facility.

“Community centers like Opportunity Resources, Inc. are hallmarks of our neighborhoods, where people go for support, shared experiences and develop new job skills or find new employment,” said Rahman Khan, Vice President of Community Impact for Charter Communications, Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand of Internet, TV, Mobile and Voice products. “Through our partnership, Spectrum Community Center Assist will help Opportunity Resources, Inc. grow its essential employment training programs to help the greater Missoula area, with a safe and revitalized physical space.”

Opportunity Resources, Inc.is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Montana dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities. Opportunity Resources, Inc. has over 60 years of providing individualized services for hundreds of Western Montana’s adults living with a disability. The goal is simple— to support our clients in attaining independence in housing, employment, and as many aspects of their daily lives as possible, while providing all of the support services required to achieve that goal. Opportunity Resources programs focus on providing people with disabilities opportunities to engage in meaningful employment, artistic and creative projects, stable housing and community involvement.

Opportunity Resources, Inc. will receive $50,000 to strengthen their job skills training program and impact more community members. Opportunity Resources, Inc. will also be dedicating their updated technology room with the Spectrum name.

Spectrum launched Spectrum Community Center Assist in September 2021 to benefit local organizations providing critical community services and job training skills in underserved cities and towns across the company’s 41-state footprint. By 2025, Spectrum will invest $25 million plus $5 million of in-kind contributions to improve 100 community centers serving an estimated 50,000 local residents. More information about Spectrum Community Center Assist is available here.
